APEC Regulators’ Forum & 27th Chemical Dialogue (CD) – August 10-12, 2021

CICM, represented by members from the Regulatory Affairs Committee, as well as the Executive Director and the Secretariat, participated in the meetings hosted by New Zealand. The Malaysian delegation also comprised representatives from MITI, DOSH and MPMA. The Chemical Dialogue was co-chaired by Chile (Industry) and the US (Government) and attended by 18 APEC economies, with more than 90 participants. The meeting was given a status update by the APEC Secretariat whether the CD as a sub-fora under APEC will continue for another new term i.e. 2022 – 2025. The Virtual Working Groups (VWG) on Regulatory Co-operation Convergence, GHS, Data Exchange and Marine Debris provided updates on the status of their activities and plans for 2022 which include surveys, webinars / virtual workshops, guideline development, etc.
