Courtesy Call to Director General of DOSH – April 8, 2019

Mr Goh Eng Leong, EXCO Member and Chairman of the Regulatory Affairs Committee led CICM at the courtesy call to YBrs Ir Hj Omar b Mat Piah, Director General of DOSH. CICM provided an update on the Responsible Care implementation in Malaysia and sought DOSH’s support to help promote this initiative to the SMEs. Concerns pertaining to the proposed import permit for hazardous chemicals under the CLASS Regulations 2013 and the expanded list of classified chemicals under Part 1 of ICOP CHC 2014 were also raised. CICM also proposed to meet DOSH on a permanent basis to review and discuss proposed amendments to regulations related to chemicals management.
